Run this morning was Great!

  Hello Blog,

Well, it's been a while since I posted here!  I have been busy training for my Marathon.  Wow, it's going to be here soon.  June will be here before I know it!  San Diego here I come.  ahhhhhhhh...  I feel like I am READY.

I have been running a lot, esp. since I can run at the indoor track at the Y.M.C.A.  I love that.  I ran this morning and then went swimming in the warm pool with two of my lovies, two G-Babies!  It was a great run!

On A Roll, And Not A Good One... I Got Pulled Over Again!

Hey Blog,

On A Roll,  And Not A Good One...

Just wanted to mention,  yesterday when going to work I got pulled over.  ugh...  Not again, just got a ticket 2 weeks ago for turning left at a no left turn sign. Well, that was due to the G.P.S.

Yesterday, early in the morning,  I was going to work at a new patients home for the first time.  I approach a Stop Sign, I Do Not come to a " Complete" Stop, not a good thing when a Police Officer is sitting right there.  The lights come on, I pull over.  Worried about being late getting to my little patients house, I start to call before he gets up to my car.

Ok, He is at my car, so down goes the window.  He says, " You did NOT Stop completely!"

I say,  " I was trying to get to my patient,  I'm a NURSE,  a Pediatric Home Care Nurse."

At this point to my surprise he says, in such a nice voice, " You may go, just be careful pulling out!"
Wow,  Thank God.  I will always try to STOP completely at STOP signs from now on!  I did say try.

I was on time for my new client, all was well!
Thank Goodness,
Drive Safe!

STOP means Stop and STOP completely!

Help others

Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day.

Hello.

Today is another day to enjoy life and try to be thankful for what we have big or small, and try to help one another.

Life is too short to not try to enjoy it and you know that sounds like such a simple quote that is said so often.  We don't really think about it, but it is so true!  Life flies by so fast it really is short when you stop and think about it.

Live, love, laugh, esp. LAUGH!

Have a GREAT day,
Love,

Happy Monday morning!

Just, Shoot me NOW!
Training for another Marathon
Running one mile at a time to help find a cure for Cancer.....
Cancer SUCKS, yep!

Happy Monday morning Blog,

Well, here I am sitting on the couch, it is still dark outside and I feel like I just went to bed and I'm back up already, and going back to work.  I guess that's what happens when you work 13 hours get home go to bed and get back up to work 9.  I say "thank goodness I have a job and one that I truly love doing, being a Nurse."  I can't think of a better profession, maybe being a professional Blogger. ha, ha, ha....

The Professional Blogger is really funny.  I do like blogging, but I don't think I'll ever be good enough to make a living at it. I also LOVE Running!  Running to raise money for L.L.S.  I want to raise money for Cancer research to help find a CURE!  Go away Cancer, You SUCK!

I hope after work today to be able to go to the gym and run, then swim with my favorite little guy, Cammy.

Goodbye Blog, until we blog again,
Have a great day.

Snowy Day Adventures

I love theSnow
Summer time run!

After going to bed rather late, due to working some overtime, I got up early to go outside in the snow and run.  I was so excited to get to run again with an awesome group of people- Team In Training - L.L.S.  We are all running with one common thing in mind -- to help raise money to fight Cancer!  I am training for my next Marathon in June!  (San Diego baby)
I can only run with the team on days I am not working and not babysitting my G-babies.  Today was one of those days. yay.....

Getting up early was not the challenging part of this day, but getting lost on the run was.  I got lost from the group and had to run and run to try to find my way back to the meeting site.  Well, it did happen, but not before putting many more miles into the run.

I was not upset about getting lost, I just ran and enjoyed the beautiful snowy day.  I love snow!  The only thing I was upset about was when I did almost make my way back I found out the coach and his wife were out looking for me.  I felt bad that I messed things up for them, but it all turned out OK.  Life isn't always the way you expect it, life is what it is!

Now I'm at home warming up.  The run was warm, but I like to run in short running skirts and it is warm when I run then after the run I feel so cold.  I like having my legs out to run, I think I run better.  I did wear knee-high socks they are awesome to run in.  I bought a couple running knee-highs on line, I love them.

Spending the night hanging out with my lovies, some of my G-Kids!
Have a Great night Blog,

My GPS got me a Ticket!

Yay, I get to take Cammy to his gymnastics class.
Did not know it was going to Cost me...

I  get to take Cam to gymnastics for the first time,(first time for me not for him). So, I pick him up at my sisters car lot.  I turn on the GPS to be able to get there, because I have no idea where this place is. We have plenty of time according to what the guy in the GPS is saying.  Not typical for me!  To be so timely!

Then the moment happens, we are almost there and the GPS says turn left at the next light, so I start to turn and I all of a sudden notice a NO turn sign and a Cop car!  ahhhh.....  Well, I'm busted!  The lights go on and I pull over.

I try to tell the Police officer that the GPS told me to turn, but he said that turning because the GPS told me to, is NO excuse and that I was getting a ticket!  ugh...

Lesson learned $111.00 later, Do Not follow what your GPS tells you to do!  This is not the first time the guy in GPS and I have gone rounds!  It is the first time it cost me that much money!

On a lighter note Cam made it to gymnastics on time and I signed up at the gym to be a member!  My new place to train for my Marathon!  Hanover YMCA, what a nice place and you can use all the Y's in the area.

I ran on the indoor track, I like that they have an indoor track, No more night runs by myself!  It did seem like I ran so much slower inside than when I run outside.  It seems to be an AWESOME place for Cam and I to workout.

Note to self- NEVER turn left again to get there no matter what that darn guy in the GPS says!

Junk food....

Does running give you the "right" to eat junk food? Such as stopping for a Blizzard last night after running 3 miles! Some how I seem to think so! I need to get a grip on some of my bad eating habits! Well, I have to go now I'm going to run 4 miles, but no junk food after. I did already eat cream of wheat for breakfast which is good, but put wayyyyy too much sugar on it! Not good. Off to run that SUGAR off.
Goodbye all
Have a Great Day!

My Run last night, WOW!

How can I start this Blog?  Well, for starters I learned two important things, one is to never and I mean never run with my I phone in my pocket and secondly get insurance on my new I phone! Yesterday I decided to Run in the evening with a group called The York Road Runners, sounds good and it was, but not without some glitches.

I left work and headed in to York city where they meet, I got there way early, which is not typical for me.  I used Tom's bathroom to get changed, they probably wondered what is this old homeless lady doing!  Went out to wait for the group, it almost seemed like it was forever.  I was very nervous to run with people I don't even know,  never met.  I thought it was 5:15, so, here it is 5:15 and a small group of ladies arrive, three to be exact.  these ladies are dressed in their sporty running attire.  I introduce myself and I got the snub.  The group says to me you should wait for the later group because we run very fast and you probably can not keep up, huh...  OK, when is the next group coming?  They tell me it is at 5:30.  They say we run at a 8-7 min mile and off they go.  Talk about feeling like I'm back in High School were the Geeky girl gets left alone.

Here I am waiting around in this parking lot for the next group.  It is cold and I'm getting more nervous to run especially after that encounter with the "FAST" group. By the way how did they know how fast I run?  People start to arrive, their is one young guy that is there that kinda runs the group.  He is very nice and says they will not let me in the dust!  ahhhhh...  That made me feel better.  This group of runners seemed very nice and welcoming to a newbie, esp a new beginner.  You could tell this group of runners were probably fast just from how in shape they were.  They introduced themselves as did I.

Off we go!  The run goes into the City of York.  It is starting to get dark, we all have some kind of light on our body. The coldness that I felt earlier was gone, I was now Hot.  We were running at about a 10 min mile!  That's good for me because I am just getting back in the groove after taking a break for a month or two.  I'm running keeping up but my shoes keep coming untied, finally I tie them both in double knots.  That seemed to solve that. This put me behind everyone else, but this one lady named Kim waited for me.  We had a really good run and talk.  the talking made the run go so much faster!  All of a sudden we are back at where we started,  I go to get in my car, oh no, I have no cell phone!  Keys?????  What to do now?  I start to walk looking for them, but no luck.  I see in this little cafe two police officers.  In I go to ask them if they can GPS my cell phone.  their answer is no. not without a search warrant.  they were very nice and helpful, they had me sit down with them as the one drove down the alley where we last ran to look for my stuff.  The other officer called Verizon to see if they could help.  The answer after wasting time talking with Verizon was no.  They could not be of any help.  They did mention an app. for the I phone that helps you locate your phone,  I will be getting that.  The other police officer returned, no luck!

As I am running out of options the friend I just met comes in the cafe and asks if I would like to run back the way we just ran to look for my phone.  Yes, yes, yes!  I was so happy she offered.  Off we went back into the city, by now it was getting pretty late.  I was so upset at this point I just ran and did not think about running more miles or how cold it had become.  Kim had a flashlight we ran and looked, ran and looked.  After about one and a half miles of running back where we had been, the flashlight shines on something glittery.  It was my I phone!  The glittery pink case was on the back road just laying there.  I was the happiest girl.  I could not thank Kim enough. Thanks so much to my new running partner for helping me find my stuff.  I know for sure without Kim I would not have found anything.  We ran back to our cars, I never hung on to that phone so tight.  I just bought the phone about two weeks ago.  The Ironic thing is I also bought my youngest daughter, Alyssa one and told her Do not lose this phone!  Back at our vehicles.  I thanked her again and again,  we will run again next Wednesday I will be sure to bring her something as a way to say thanks.  The run turned into a much longer run than expected, but it all turned out good.  Thanks to a good person.

Several lessons learned.  I will never and I mean never put things in my pockets if the pockets do not zipper.  Get insurance on mine and Alyssa's new I phones, last but not least continue to run and get faster than those three ladies that ditched me in the beginning of this running journey.  So the running journey continues!

I decided to go for a little run. - Forrest Gump
